Anything else you want to say about the kinds of projects or people or organizations you’d like to work with?
I've been researching patient & family education for the past year and am passionate about finding ways to support teens and young adults with life-altering illnesses. I also love bringing people closer to diverse cultural experience through games and simulations.
Games you’ve worked on ...
A beautiful ecosystem game that engages middle schoolers in systems thinking. I worked with a partner to come up with the concept and game narrative. I researched setting and our science, diagrammed game mechanics, wrote branching dialogues between characters, and designed experiences that would meet Next Generation Science Standards.
What abilities would you bring to a collaboration?
I bring a big imagination fueled by years of reading books, traveling and living in different places, and being a performing artist. I am an instructional designer, but have a keen visual design sense and can sketch to communicate ideas. I also love talking to people (everyone, even strangers) about ideas that have me excited.
Three games you’ve played that have changed your life:
Hearts: because my Dad never let me win, even as a child.
Game of Thrones: because I finally released into my huge nerd side and loved it. And because I realized what it means to hate your friends and still have fun and reconcile when it's over.
World of Warcraft: because I learned what it means to be truly immersed and realized the potential of engaging game elements.
