If my life story were a game, it would be a cross between ...
Portal and QWOP ... I'm always being tested, but I'm driven to survive and succeed.
Most people know me as a (check all that apply) ...
Game Designer, Writer, Student, The Intern, Public Speaker, Researcher, Lifelong Gamer
When it comes to my game-making career, I'm ...
a newbie (no game experience ... yet!)
Kinds of games I’m best known for making or want to be known for making someday (check all that apply) ...
MMOs, Alternate reality games, Mobile games, PC Games - single player, Console Games, Art and Experimental games, Board games, Educational games
Will collaborate for
Creative fulfillment and fun, Experience and mentorship, School credit, Money, A chance at a Nobel Prize
Anything else you want to say about the kinds of projects or people or organizations you’d like to work with?
Most of my gaming hours have been spent on playing and creating JRPGs; I cut my teeth on Chrono Cross , Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and Final Fantasy VII, and the influence of these titles is evident in my (casual and unpublished) RPG Maker projects. In the last ten years, however, my horizons have broadened to include co-op and competitive titles, such as the Gears of War, Diablo, and Borderlands franchises. My favorite titles feature immersive worlds and narratives---a la Bioshock and Portal---and I would love to be considered if your project seeks to create an experience that will stick with its audience for years to come.
Games you’ve worked on ...
I have not shipped any games, but I have worked off and on with the RPG Maker series for the last ten years. Coding is not a part of my skill set, but I am always on the lookout for help in that area. :)
What abilities would you bring to a collaboration?
As an English Major, I am well-read and -versed in symbolism, mythology, and critical theory. Therefore, I am confident in my ability to cultivate intellectual value in even the most casual narrative.

I am an excellent teammate, and I am never afraid to ask for input or accept constructive criticism. On the other hand, I am always available to provide these things when needed.

As a consummate geek, I am confident in my ability to create and edit new IPs that employ parody and pastiche when necessary, without being trite.
Three games you’ve played that have changed your life:
1. Super Mario World was my first video game, so I feel it deserves the top spot here. Some of my earliest memories involve begging my (much) older brother to "Beat Bowser! Beat Bowser!" when he visited. I'd sit with the second controller plugged-in and "play the bad guys" while he ran through the final boss fight. I paid attention as he showed me all the Easter eggs and secret levels, and was Luigi to his Mario until he moved into the working world, when I began to progress through Super Mario World's myriad levels on my own save file. This was the beginning of my video game obsession.

2. Chrono Cross got me interested in space/time travel and quantum physics. I don't think I would have read Stephen Hawking, or become a fan of television shows like Doctor Who and Quantum Leap, had I not played this game.

3. Gears of War 2 was my first truly competitive gaming experience. I am competitive by nature, and I avoided games I /might/ be bad at to avoid the embarrassment and annoyance of a loss. With its steep learning curve and unfamiliar territory---no radar? my deaths count? why isn't this in first-person?---Gears 2 presented me with both a unique challenge and an invaluable learning experience. Five years later, I've joined a clan, made friends, and dramatically improved my roll and KDR. Most importantly, however, Gears taught me to work both independently and as a team, which are indispensable traits in the professional world.
