Favorite game? (This will help us tell if you're a spambot or not, so please answer carefully so we can approve your account!)
DragonAge (Xbox), Civilization (PC), Dominion (board)
If my life story were a game, it would be a cross between ...
Sims & PayDay
Most people know me as a (check all that apply) ...
Writer, Teacher, Researcher, Lifelong Gamer
When it comes to my game-making career, I'm ...
a newbie (no game experience ... yet!)
Kinds of games I’m best known for making or want to be known for making someday (check all that apply) ...
Simulations, Crowdsourcing games, Board games, Educational games
Will collaborate for
Creative fulfillment and fun, Experience and mentorship, School credit, Money, Big money, A chance at a Nobel Prize
Anything else you want to say about the kinds of projects or people or organizations you’d like to work with?
Currently, my focus is on adding game elements to an online microbiology course. I'd like to collaborate with other educators and game designers (for future projects on the personal side as well as professional)

I'm intrigued about game design that leverages the "crowdsourcing" aspect that leads to meaningful contributions.
Games you’ve worked on ...
None (YET!!!)
What abilities would you bring to a collaboration?
I have taught large lecture classes at a university for 15 years and counting, so I am organized and can manage large #s of people.

I have a PhD in molecular biology and MS in Medical microbiology and have worked on several multi-site projects in the past 5 years, so collaborating over distance/digitally commonplace.

I qualify for Mensa, but am not terribly comfortable with paying a fee to carry a card that says "hey, I'm scary-smart" when in reality it says "hey, I am very skilled at taking exams")

I am passionate about teaching and have experience in assessment.
Three games you’ve played that have changed your life:
Civilization (I, II, III, IV, V) Though #1 was the life changer (the others are variations on the theme) - it almost cost me my MS degree and it opened my eyes to how much fun and educational games of this sort could be.

Chess - weeks to learn, lifetime to master (Though I'm nowhere near a master) I've taught my kids and we spend quality time playing.

Dungeons and Dragons - I ran a marathon D & D session as a teenager to raise money for MS, met my husband while playing in college, and was usually the Dungeon master, so it improved my creativity, narrative design and organizational skills. (no one wants grumpy PCs because of a disorganized DM).
