Anything else you want to say about the kinds of projects or people or organizations you’d like to work with?
Just finished reading Reality is Broken. Feel inspired. Have a better understanding of why I've always found gaming so rewarding & a desire to take this further. Trying to think about how I can bring gaming into my work world - in terms of staff mainly at this stage - and how I can create my own games.
Games you’ve worked on ...
Only just started learning some coding on Scratch. Yes it might be designed for younger people than me but it's pitched at just the right level! A few very basic games created - loved doing it. Want to learn more. Working on an over ambitious Point & Click Adventure called Ten Ghosts.
What abilities would you bring to a collaboration?
Enthusiasm, ideas, research ability & writing skills (non fiction & fiction). Have a PhD in early Church History - it rarely comes in useful but you never know!
Three games you’ve played that have changed your life:
Strange Odyssey - Scott Adams adventure - was everything I wanted in a game (at that time) & inspired me to try to write my own text adventure in Basic - all about a hunt for a toothbrush for some reason.
The Sims 2 - I created a family of several generations, wept buckets when the original couple died, kept their son alive forever (until a PC crash lost everything) & realised I did not have coping skills for death - not even the death of computer sprites. Have never felt the same about any of my other Sims - will always mourn the loss the Sims 2 family.
Resi Evil 2 - brought me back to the world of gaming after a brief time away. Could not believe how far it had come - Strange Odyssey to Resi Evil 2 in my lifetime. And now they've gone even further. Amazing. I feel privileged to have been born to see games develop in this way.
