Hey there! Anyone tickled by the idea of using gaming to crowdsource entrepreneurial opportunities for people in Asia's largest slum?!
I am looking to develop a game to harness the imaginations and skills of people across disciplines around the world to help people out of poverty in Dharavi slum in Mumbai, India. The game will crowdsource social innovation and finding solutions to the real life problems of residents in the slum. The solutions people design through playing the game will be fed back to the slum's residents and actioned by them if they choose.
The game is one thread of a larger (epic!) project I am co-producing. Dharavi Dairy fuses storytelling, creative technologies, social innovation and entrepreneurship to create opportunities for people in the slum to generate their own income, share their knowledge with the world and create a better life for themselves.
We will use various new media platforms including film, interactive video, virtual street mapping, online radio and gaming to create these entrepreneurial opportunities for the people we are working with in Dharavi slum.
I am seeking game designers and passionizers who love the idea of social innovation using creative tech!
Like most social innovation projects Dharavi Diary is a grassroots project and any income generated will go to project participants in the slum, so we are seeking collaborators not paid providers. Sorreeeeeeee.
I would loooooove to the moon and to hear from someone out there who wants to get their creative brain on for social good!
Please flick me an email if you're interested or want to know more.
