This one's for the technology-using educators out there. http://youtu.be/9Gpjcyl--KA?hd=1 is an introductory video explaining a bit about the system the kids and I are working with this year. We're in our sixth week of school. Engagement and motivation are off the charts. Kids are loving this!
Since posting the video, an epic conversation (200+ comments) had ensued on the Adobe Education Exchange http://edexchange.adobe.com/posts/7a8d687bf9 (registration required) We've made a lot of improvements and a teacher in Florida is successfully using the "Lite" version (which works with any WordPress theme).
Our goal is to provide educators a free, open source method of gamifying any curriculum using the WordPress framework.
If you're a PHP god who happens to believe in such a project, we'd love to have your input. (As a mentor or advisor to the kids writing the code, not a coding slave.)
P.S. If you're an educator who'd like to test the site from a students' POV, email me and I'll set up an account and a blog for you. email@example.com | http://maclab.guhsd.net
