If my life story were a game, it would be a cross between ...
My life story IS a game
Most people know me as a (check all that apply) ...
Artist, Writer, Entrepreneur, Student, Teacher, Inventor, Researcher, Lifelong Gamer
When it comes to my game-making career, I'm ...
a newbie (no game experience ... yet!)
Kinds of games I’m best known for making or want to be known for making someday (check all that apply) ...
Social games, iPhone / iPad games, Mobile games, Simulations, Crowdsourcing games, PC Games - multiplayer, Art and Experimental games, Educational games, You should add another category!
Will collaborate for
Experience and mentorship
Anything else you want to say about the kinds of projects or people or organizations you’d like to work with?
I am hoping to proffer a collaboration to the community whereby I can kickstart an idea I have for a world-bettering open source game. The hope would be that built into the design were the means for further programmers / charitable people to engage with the game whether it be to create new "mini-games" within it or to "enter the game" as an entity.
Games you’ve worked on ...
I am not a programmer, nor a graphical designer. I am a writer, ideas person, communications expert, and teacher. I can help a project in a number of essential ways but I cannot design the code of the game I have in mind, that's where (I hope) the community here comes in. I have worked on designs for a number of games, but not computer games. Most of these have been logic, mathematical, spatial and verbal puzzles, internationally published. I think I can readily adapt my experience to functionality design of the game I have in mind, at the least.
What abilities would you bring to a collaboration?
Communications expert and teacher (Media studies, Communication studies, Creative & Critical thinking). Useful for promotion and organisation of project.

Published author and wordsmith, have produced a wide range of puzzles and games offline.

A good head for game functionality and design of gameplay.

A deep and abiding enthusisam for offering new free community sourced vehicles for change to the public.

A good attitude.
Three games you’ve played that have changed your life:
Lancelot (a text adventure from the late eighties, on the Amstrad CPC - this and others were formative in my gaming development as a young sproggin)

Poker (I have to say, this has been a passion for a number of years. I play tournament poker several times a week and have made a (less than steady) profit from it over time)

Farmville (I don't like this game. However encountering it did, in a roundabout way, lead me to the very idea that brings me to this site, and in this sense, has very much changed my life, at least the part of it I'm in as I write this! Don't worry, my idea is no kind of Farmville clone! If you are curious as to what exactly I'm trying to do, please ask...)

Hello everyone, I have just joined Gameful and will edit this later with further info, but wanted to post the main reason I'm here. I found this site through Jane whose approach fascinates me. I have a specifc idea I'd like to bring to fruition as a collaborative open source project and am seeking like-minded people to help make this happen. The idea itself is essentially a collaborative game whereby people can both aid and be educated about a range of charities and causes simply by playing, which will expand over time through open source contributions of further "games within the game" and by further charities wishing to be "in" the game. There is more to it than that of course, and a specific cause and mini-game in mind to begin the project. I'll post more on it soon. I'm initiailly seeking any and everyone with a qualification or experience that might help get this started, above all however at this stage, programmers.

Just wanted to stop by and say I really hope someone helps you with your idea for a game; it's similar to mine and therefore I love it.

Good luck, buddy.
